Cloud Computing |Use Cases of AWS

Cloud computing, which was a completely foreign concept just a few years ago, has transformed the way businesses function today. The Enterprise Cloud Market is expected to reach USD 947.3 billion by 2026, with competitors including Rackspace, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud!

The Benefit of Cloud Computing

The primary benefit of using the cloud is that it reduces costs and increases efficiency within a business. Furthermore, businesses are looking for the best cloud platform to enable them to establish a scalable global infrastructure at the lowest possible cost, deploy new apps instantaneously, scale-up workload based on demand, and remain safe!

Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the early adopters of cloud computing, specializes in providing IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services or cloud computing. AWS has served a diverse set of customers from various industries with varying cloud requirements. AWS cloud has helped solve organizational needs by providing unique solutions for every requirement, whether it is Nokia, Pfizer, or Comcast.

Here are six AWS Cloud Use Cases that are transforming business:

Pfizer:

Pfizer, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, needed to solve the issue of peak computing needs. The Amazon VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) was created to improve Pfizer’s high-performance computer software and infrastructure for global R&D. In addition, the Virtual Private Cloud assisted Pfizer in responding to new issues by increasing computational capability beyond the capacity of its existing HPC (high-performance computing) equipment. As a result, Pfizer avoided significant hardware/software investments and concentrated its efforts on other WRD activities.

Shazam:

Shazam has assisted it in connecting with over 200 million people in over 200 countries and 33 languages. Shazam was preparing for Super Bowl advertisement with the goal of increasing brand recognition. Their requirement to manage the predicted rise in demand following the advertising campaign was met by utilizing Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud), with traffic dispersed among these instances via Elastic Load Balancing. Shazam also used Amazon DynamoDB for secondary data activities and Amazon Elastic MapReduce for Big Data Analytics. Shazam was able to execute a million transactions with Amazon EC2 and improve its efficiency after the Superbowl event, with over 1 million transactions.

Nokia Corporation:

Nokia Corporation, a former leader in mobile manufacturing, has important markets in India, Asia Pacific, Africa, and South America. Nokia’s Xpress Internet Services platform is geared toward supplying these markets with on-the-go Internet access. Nokia was hoping to scale the database and generate reports more effectively than a standard database, which runs on 2200 servers and collects 800 GB of data per day. Nokia was able to run queries twice as quickly as its previous solutions after migrating to AWS and using the Amazon Redshift (Data Warehouse) and leverage business intelligence tools to mine and analyze big data at a 50 percent lower cost!

Netflix:

A well-known participant in the United States when it comes to online video streaming, Netflix has teamed with AWS for services and content delivery. Netflix can use AWS to run hundreds of machines and gigabytes of storage in minutes. Netflix material may be accessed from anywhere in the world, including the web, tablets, and mobile devices.
